Who Am I?

I’m Shane! I am originally from Calfornia, I went to college in Seattle, but I now live outside of Dallas in Richardson, TX. I'm married, and I am a dad to a daughter who is rapidly growing. I also love to cook, listen to music, and travel. I enjoy many things, but running has been consistent. I am a quiet and a positive person, and see myself as steady and loyal. Those qualities come out in my training and my mindset with running.

My Running History

While on the surface I don’t have what many people would call an incredible running story, it has been more or less…Stable.

I have been running for over 2 decades now. It started in Junior High when I had a neighborhood friend join my Junior High club. Running was hard! I remember doing a run and being at the back of the pack walking. But, I was motivated! I went on to run cross country and track in high school. I was never the “star” or prodigal athlete, but I learned how to be consistent and show up when I needed to. In college (University of Washington), I joined a running club. Then,  I suffered 3 knee injuries about a year or two apart that kept me from running consistently. After this, I thought running as much as I had previously was over. I got into triathlons (which I still enjoy) and ran much less. My knee came back, I started working with a personal running coach, and got a new spark for running amidst having a family.

Through my experiences and values, I want to teach and train other athletes to be positive, find new appreciations for the sport of running, stay mentally strong, and develop stability as runners when starting or re-starting running.
